LIFE SPAN AND ITS DIVISION (ASHRAM VYAVASTHA)
Minor nuclear explosion takes place in the sun in every twelve years and major nuclear explosions take place
at the eighth such explosion (i.e. ninty six years). The sun energy is on the rising trend for the first four
such cycles and on declining from fifth to eighth cycle and this trend repeats after each major explosion.
Similarly between each minor explosion first six years energy is on the rising trend and later on in decreasing
trend. In a way between two major explosions, it will have two trends, eight cycles and sixteen sub cycles.
Human being generally follows the same trend and as such Bhartiya Ashram Vyavastha has been derived from it. For
human beings first twelve years is of childhood stage, where girl and boy reflect almost same trend, after twelve
years till twenty-four years is Kishore-Avastha (teenage) where sexual energy, learning and knowledge enhances.
From twenty four to forty eight years sexual energy is being utilized in procreation, birth in family takes place
and family life goes on. Menopause happens from forty eight years plus of age and different life starts, when its
children become old enough to get married and take over the responsibility and the person now can look outward or
rather forced to look out. At the age of seventy two years plus children’s children arrive at marriageable ages.
When children’s children family life start and children start looking outwardly, then it is time to leave the family
responsibility fully and this can be considered that the person has discharged his full duty toward family and it’s
time for Sanyas Ashram to start.
Ashram Vyavastha is achchi (good) shram Vyavastha (nice division of labour) it is like a cast system for individuals.
Looking at Ashram Vyavastha, the marriageable age is twenty four years plus.
Retirement from government service can start from forty eight years of age (approx).
Children education to start from six years and can be same for both boys and girls up to twelve years of age, from twelve
years to twenty four years of age boys and girls to be educated separately. Sex education and education for family
life has to be imparted at marriageable age i.e. approx twent four year of age.
From forty eight years to seventy two years people have to be included in family and social service and they can
act as advisors, consultants, vigil keepers and involve in Rajniti (politics), in education, Nyay Vyavastha (judiciary) etc.
After seventy two years of age people must be included in education system imparting its life experience to young lot.
Ashram Vyavastha says that during Bhramcharya ashram one should also learn various methods of worship/prayer but his main job
is to work to assist the Brahmin the Sanyasi and for Bhramcharya. Karma has to be prayer/worship and Karma has to be
yoga (Karma yoga). In Grihastha ashram one should worship Idol; this is to respect the form of the god which people
pray should descend from heaven to become ones son or daughter. One will appreciate that all the places (more or less)
of worship have the shape of sitting woman in Padmasan, where the Idol is placed like child at the womb (Garbh) and
called so such places where idol is placed i.e. sanctum sanctorum called Garbhgrah. In Grihastha ashram Idol worship is
the way and Bhakti is the yoga. In Banprastha ashram– Prayer (Chanting of god’s name Tantra – Mantra – Jap – Strot)
is the way –and Jnan is the yoga (Jnanyoga). In Sanyas ashram formless prayer (Nirakar) is the way – Raj is the yoga
(Rajyoga). And after Sanyas yoga if one cross hundred years of age s/he is like saint/mahatma. S/he can worship even
him/herself or any other way s/he likes.
Exception in any case has to be exception only.
